Agglomeration System
Agglomeration is the process of joining smaller powder particulates to form bigger conglomerates. Agglomerated powders are non-dusty, free flowing and instantly soluble in cold and hot waters.
Agglomeration can be achieved in a spray dryer with unique fines return system of SSP.
Agglomeration can also be achieved in a fluidized bed dryer by spraying of binding agents like water; the combination of a spray dryer and fluidized bed dryer (2 stages or 3 stages) always produces better agglomerates.
For agglomeration of coffee powders rewet agglomeration technique is used for getting bigger agglomerates. Steam or water is used in the rewet agglomeration depending on the requirements of color of the product. For dark color water condensate is used and for light color steam is used as rewetting media.
Size of agglomerate, bulk density and color of the product can be varied as per customer requirement.
